Melanie Barnett- Singer Songwriter with some noise, I’ve been writing music most of my life. If it wasn’t a tune made up with my sister to describe something in our room, it was singing the directions to the macaroni and cheese box when I was ten. I’ve kept that passion for improv melody and song making, and used it to express my difficulties, pleasures, bewilderment of landscapes, and life’s rawness.

Xeff Scolari- Xeff Scolari started making music in the late 80’s, forming several local bands over the years.  A prolific writer, his songs have become a way to navigate and document the challenges and trials of life, the wins and the losses. The passing and emerging of relationships, the tensions and comforts of connection, all resonate in his writing.  A vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and passionate studio engineer and producer, Xeff has recorded and produced a number of area bands at his studio.  He's coordinated an annual Humboldt County Music Showcase that travels to San Francisco for a show at the Bandshell stage in Golden Gate Park.  During the pandemic, he started Shelter n Play, an on-line open mic that gave musicians a platform for expression. The weekly event ran for 2 years, and included participants accross the US.  He is the leader of the sonic indie rock band Red Hot Shame. Currently, they are working on their fifth full length album.
